M&S Cumberland Fish Pie

A delicious fish pie with layers of cod, a creamy cheese sauce, buttery mash and finished with a crunchy breadcrumb topping. This meal was really tasty with plenty of tender pieces of cod. The cheese sauce was delicious, creamy and tangy. The buttery mash was perfect, along with the crunchy breadcrumb topping. Another delicious, comforting ready meal from M&S.

  1. This fish pie was awful. Cooked in oven as per instructions but fish was rubbery and not cooked so had to put it in microwave for 5 mins to make sure it was cooked. Not up to M&S usual high standards

  2. I agree, the fish was unedible. literally had to pull large chunks of fish from my young child's mouth. really disappointing for m & s normal standard.

  3. Truly awful. Block of fish with tiny amount of sauce round the block not “chunks of fish in cheese sauce”. Neither fish nor sauce were tasty. Could not identify a cheese taste. Would never buy again. So disappointing.

  4. Fine as a quick meal but would be better if fish was in smaller pieces and distributed more evenly. This might also help avoid it boiling over in the microwave both times I tried - that or the packaging needs to allow more room for expansion during cooking.

  5. This was a very disappointing fish pie by M&S standards. Although the mash was tasty there didn't seem to be hardly any fish. A more accurate description would be mashed potato pie with a taste of fish. We will not buy this product again

  6. I live in the US, and had been looking forward to a decent fish pie on a visit home. I eagerly bought the Cumberland fish pie and cooked in the oven as per the instructions. I was truly disappointed in the pie, from the chewy lump of fish and tasteless mashed potatoes to the bland 'cheese' sauce. What a waste of money, and a disappointing experience.
